America’s Foreign Policy an Example by

America’s Foreign Policy During President Bushs administration that lasted its full two terms, Americans became witnesses to the ever-growing changes in the world order. Recent developments in the Muslim world, the nuclear states in Asia, Iran, issues in global warming, the terrorist groups, the Middle East, the 9-11 attack, China, Saddam and the Iraqi war, U.S. economic recession, and a host of other world-changing events have taken most of the American Administrations strategic and foreign policy skills in dealing with them. Need essay sample on "Americas Foreign Policy" topic? We will write a custom essay sample specifically for you Proceed The Bush administration seemed to have learned its mistakes from Iraq. Its former approach of a presumptuous invasion for the early suppression of a supposed national security risk turned out to be a wrong step in realizing regional peace; Iraq did not possess any biological weapon, and it had resulted in the loss of countless American lives. This miscalculation, perhaps, has resulted in what we see today as a more restrained diplomatic approach to the problems in North Korea and in Iran, both claiming to in the process of nuclear weapons testing (Wright, 2006, p. 1). All these factors had resulted in the re-awakening of ideologies within Americas society and leaders, and the administration itself. Idealism concerns itself solely with the welfare of mankind. It was this ideology that was responsible for the spreading of democracy and the fight for human rights, it was also the main factor for the Liberals supporting of the Iraq War (Wright, 2006, p. 1). Realism, meanwhile, is of the belief that the sole purpose of the American foreign policy is to serve American interests, and that as long as other nations dont put American interests in danger, their domestic affairs is of no concern for the Americans (Wright, 2006, p. 1). And lastly, progressive realism underscores the need for a correlation among nations. It stresses a slogan: the betterment of one is for the betterment of all- wherein America will be at her productive-best if other nations will flourish as well (Wright, 2006, p. 1). Love in Twelfth Night essays

Love in Twelfth Night essays Love is generally something sudden and irresistible, it is extremely difficult to get rid of. People seem to suffer from love, or at least people claim to suffer. Despite Twelfth Nights comic plot, Shakespeare paints the ambiguous picture of romance and infatuation in the play. It is a story of the madness of love, it can as well be viewed as an essential celebration of romantic love. Most characters in the play are involved in love in varying degrees. Throughout the play, many forms of love are portrayed. The first form of love explored is romantic love. Duke Orsino is seriously in love with love. At the beginning of the play, Orsino says, If music be the food of love, play on (Act1 Scn1 L1), he is hungry for love so bad. But actually Orsinos love is a false love, since he is satisfied by the idea of being in love, he is only in love with love itself and he doesnt know what true love is. The second form of love portrayed is the love at first sight. O, when mine eyes did see Olivia first, Methought she purged the air of pestilence! ... (Act 1 Scn 1 L17-22), says Duke Orsino. As soon as the Duke saw the beautiful Lady Olivia, Orsino is lovesick for her and she has become the passion of his life. There is another example of love at first sight in the play, which is performed by Olivia, who is in love with Cesario. However, Cesario is in fact a woman, Viola, who disguised herself as a young man and becomes a page to the Duke, makes both Olivia and Orsino misunderstand. Once Olivia see Cesario, who comes to her to carry love messages from Orsino, she is in love with the fake image of Cesario. As Olivia does not know the genuine identity of Cesario, Olivias love is as well a false love. The third form of love portrayed is secret love. Secret love obviously means the love that cannot be exposed to the public. Viola loves Orsino secretly; Orsino loves Olivia secre ...

Federal open market committee Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Federal open market committee - Essay Example The Federal Open Market Committee plays a key role in setting the rates of interest on loans etc. that are available with banks and other lending institutions. In fact if we consider carefully, monetary and fiscal policy are the two ways in which the money supply and interest rates within an economy are controlled. This has impact on the rates of inflation, employment, job creation, productivity and a whole lot of other factors that form part of our financial and economic well being and affect the National Statistics and state of the economy. In this assignment we are going to take on the role of the Federal Open Market Committee and make a decision on short term interest rates for the USA. Discussion The term ‘Open Market Operations’ refers to the actions of the FOMC in directly controlling the money supply available with banks and indirectly by affecting the rates of interest and lending available with banks (Samuelson & Nordhaus, 2004). If the FOMC has decided to tigh ten monetary supply and credit expansion, it will sell securities in the open market at a higher rate, which have to be picked up by the banks. Using part of their money supply to achieve this objective, it leaves the banks with reduced capacity to give out loans. As the amount of lending has a connection with available reserves, a reduction in lending reserves would automatically put a dent in credit expansion and lending would dry up. So here the FOMC has managed to reduce credit expansion. On the other hand, if it was desired to increase the credit supply in the economy, the FOMC would work to buy securities from the open market and in doing so, give the banks funds which they could use for lending purposes. This would make lending easier and the economy would receive a boost by way of increased trade and investment opportunities. It is notable that Open Market Operations is only one tool at the disposal of the FOMC to control the money and credit available in an economy. Being a Banker to the Government, printer of US currency notes, Bankers Bank, increasing and decreasing the Reserve Ratio, and even applying moral persuasion are some of the ways in which the Federal Reserve seeks to exert a good measure of control on prices, productivity, inflation and employment in the USA (Samuelson & Nordhaus, 2004). Analysis of Current Economic Conditions Let us now move on to the actual statistics at the present time. The CPI as of May 2011 stands at 224.804. Prices have been rising slightly in recent years, as costs to produce goods and services have gone up. The GDP was 15018.1 for Q1 of 2011 and GNP was 15255.1 for the same period. This also registered a slight increase, which may be a combination of price and productivity factors. Total nonfarm private payroll employment stood at 108677 as of June 2011. The Industrial Production Index stood at 92.9815 as of May 2011. All of these figures show a slight increase, indicating that the economy is on the rebound. The I ndustrial Production of Durable Goods was recorded at 88.3948 as of May 2011 and Industrial Production of Final Goods (Market Group) was recorded at 94.6823 for the same period. Increase trends here mean that the economy is still recovering from the depression. The figure for Housing Starts of new privately owned housing units was 560 in May 2011 picking up slightly from 541 units the month before. Number of units authorized but not started hovers around 81. The housing market has been most affected by the depression and will take some time to pick up- at the moment we are seeing lackluster demand despite low interest rates. A lot of homeowners were burned in the last financial crisis. Real retail sales for consumer and food items stood at 172202 in May 2011 registering a drop from 172902 a month before. This means that consumer confidence is still lacking and people are still apprehensive about their next paycheck- consequently consumer spending has hardly picked

Islamic Country Business Practice Are Differ from Us Essay

Do I thing business practices in Islamic country are likely to differ from business practices in the United States? If so how? Yes, I agree with this statement that business practices in Islamic country are differ from business practices in the United States. When a business organization is capable and qualified enough to meet up the national demand then they can operate business crossing to the border. When a company operates is business activities more than one country having its own branch office in the host countries then it can be called international business. As multinational business is operated in more than one country so there must be an influence of the several host countries to operation and functional activities of the business. When business practices are doing between Islamic country and United States that time we faces some different between those countries. And those are as follows: Language is the first and foremost aspects of international business. As every country has its own language. They obviously prefer that their language is highly evaluated. Moreover to make them understand it is better to express them in their own language. For Islamic country their local language is Arabic, Hebrew etc. and on the other hand English is the local language in U.S. if they each other language then as a result their profitability will be increased and the growth of the business practices is ensured. Laws are based on the Muslim Holy Book, the Quran. The system is often known as â€Å"Sharia† but their business rules and regulation are not so strict. In United states their laws are very strict for export their product in other countries for this strict rules and regulation it decreased other countries to import product from them. It make difficult to business practices between Islamic country and United States. Religion is also an essential part of a country’s culture which influences business. Islamic countries people are Muslim religious and U.S. people are as Christians, Jews religious. If we want to express it in the way of fashion like western fashion and eastern fashion. Muslim countries like to weal long veil or covered dress whether the western countries like to wear short dress pattern. Islamic countries people are pray five times in a day, they doing fast a whole month of Ramadan, and they follow Friday as holiday. But in U.S. countries celebrate Christmas day and they follow Sunday as holiday. And those different make critical to business practices between Islamic countries and United States. Education also plays a vital role in their purchasing power as well as their attitude and consumption patterns too. If they people are educated in a country the income level and quality awareness must be higher. They will not be price biased rather than they would be quality biased. This thing also differ business practices between Islamic country and United States. The Islamic countries people are tend to be very hospitable and regard treating guests with generosity and warmth as a point of personal honor. The common practice in Islamic country is to shake hand at first meeting and again upon leaving. In Islamic country people maintain closer physical proximity while taking and conversation often involve more physical contact than is common in the United States. When a guest in an Arab person’s home, avoid giving gifts of food or drink. Through this may be common practice in the United States, in the Middle East such gifts imply that the host is inadequate. Product acceptability is also a major point for business practices in different country. Like hard drinks and poke types of product are not allowed in Muslim country but those types of product are available and allow in United States. So it’s also being a different between Islamic country and United States business practices. The weather pattern is also an important aspect of international business practices. For example the clothing pattern of cold country and the high temperature country will not be same. As well as the cosmetics pattern of the clod and hot weather country will not be same. Most of the Islamic country weather is hot so when U.S. goes for their business practices those countries they must match the weather. Business practices are also differing by population, income rate, economic growth rate, heritage so many things are related with business. In fine it can be said that to operate international business efficiently we must have sufficient knowledge of their cultural pattern, their attitude, buying pattern, behavior, response to a decision, sensitive issues of their culture, their belief, and always be prepared to handle any sorts of uncertainty to overcome them. Then we can hope the growth of the business firm in the foreign country in competitive environment and their changing pattern as well durability.

Study On Biomass Power Plant Environmental Sciences Essay

Power coevals from biomass stuff is going one of the most promising options to the established power workss based on fossil fuels such as coal or natural gas. Biomass Ok, so, biomass is defined as any organic stuff derived from workss, that is available on a renewable footing. These stuffs are by and large known as biomass feedstocks and include: Wood: from forestry fixingss ( foristri – the scientific discipline of caring for woods, and the trees and other workss that grow in them ) or from wood treating systems ( production of wood merchandises, such as mush and paper, building stuffs ) . Energy harvests which are harvests grown specifically for energy applications. Agricultural residues ( residius ) residues from agribusiness reaping or processing. Municipal Waste ( miunicipal ) which is residential, commercial, and institutional post-consumer waste such as waste paper, composition board, nutrient waste. And besides Animal Waste from farms and animal-processing industries. The production of electricity from biomass is described as a C impersonal engineering because when a new works is turning, it absorbs carbon dioxide from the ambiance to make glUcose utilizing energy from the Sun. When this works stuff is burned or decomposed by microorganisms the carbon dioxide is released back to the ambiance. These procedure is known as C rhythm which maintain the atmospheric CO2 degrees and has happened since there have been workss on Earth. Fossil fuels such as coal and gas are besides derived from biological stuff ; nevertheless this stuff absorbed CO2 from the atmosphere many 1000000s of old ages ago and when the dodo fuels are burned, this carbon dioxide is released to the ambiance increasing the natural atmospheric concentrations. The critical difference between biomass and fossil fuels is one of clip graduated table. There are presently two chief procedures used in power workss for the production of electricity from biomass: and they are direct burning and gasification. Direct burning is basically the incineration of dry biomass in the presence of air to bring forth heat. Gasification is a thermochemical transmutation of biomass at high temperature ( 700A °C to 1000A °C ) in the presence of a limited sum of O into a combustible gas which is called syngas and is a mixture composed of chiefly carbon monoxide ( CO ) and H ( H2 ) – C monoxide, H, C dioxide and methane. Now let ‘s see how these procedures are integrated into the biomass power workss. So in the first procedure: The heat produced by direct biomass burning in a boiler can be used to bring forth electricity utilizing a steam turbine in the same manner as in a coal-burning power works. This is a diagram of a typical biomass steam power works. The biomass is collected and taken to the power station. At the power station the biomass is fed into the boiler where it is burned. The heat from firing the biomass is used to boil H2O which generates steam that turns the turbines. The turbines are connected to generators. The generator spins and the mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy. Biomass is renewable as it is a C impersonal beginning of energy. When a works is designed for working merely with biomass it is called dedicated biomass power workss. However, biomass can be burned with coal in bing coal power workss. These are called co-firing workss and are one of the most cost-efficient agencies of change overing biomass to electricity at big graduated table. This method makes usage of the bing substructure of the coal works and therefore it reduces the entire investing. The different co-combustion design constructs are shown in this figure. Co-firing can be direct, with biomass and coal being fed into the same boiler, or indirect, where a pre-treatment like gasification is carried out prior to the burning in the chief unit. In parallel burning, biomass and coal burning are separate and the boilers are connected merely on the steam side. Presently most biomass electricity coevals is based on burning. The graduated table of operation is a really of import factor for the efficiency. The efficiency tends to be in the scope of 18 % to 33 % in systems bring forthing from 10 to 50 MW. The maximal efficiencies could make about 45 % in big graduated table workss bring forthing more than 100 MW. In co-firing workss, efficiency of 39 % can be reached. Now let ‘s speak about gasification in biomass power workss. A typical diagram of a biomass gasification procedure combined with power coevals is shown in this figure. In this illustration, biomass is first dried and so injected into the gasifier. The ensuing biogas is purified in a cleansing system. The purified biogas is so utilized in the conventional Combined – Cycle Gas Turbine ( CCGT ) power works, to bring forth electricity. The biogas produced in the gasification procedure can besides be used in burning engines ( 10 kilowatt to 10 MW ) with efficiency of 30 % -35 % . At larger graduated tables ( & gt ; 30 MW ) , where gasification-based systems are coupled with combined gas and steam turbines the efficiency increases up to about 45 % . There are two others procedures which can be used to bring forth electricity from biomass but they are still in a pre-commercial phase. The first of them is Pyrolysis which is a thermochemical decomposition of organic stuff at high temperatures 325A °C to 500A °C in the absence of O, bring forthing gas and liquid merchandises that could be used in power coevals units or upgraded to transport fuel. This procedure besides produces a carbon-rich residue called biochar and one of the of import facets of biochar is that it is a natural fertilizer that can be used to better dirts quality, which can potentially increase energy harvest productiveness. The 2nd one, anaerobiotic digestion is a natural biochemical procedure in which microorganisms interrupt down the organic stuff, in the absence of air, to bring forth biogas ( chiefly a mixture of around 60 % methane and 40 % C dioxide ) . Anaerobic digestion is a procedure suitable for utilizing wet biomass, organic waste or carnal waste to bring forth power coevals on site. There are a figure of engineerings that support the transition paths of biomass feedstocks into energy. Drying is the most important because High wet content needs to be reduced to increase the net calorific value of the biomass, besides to cut down conveyance costs, and to better burning efficiency and the overall economic sciences of the procedure. Biomass such as agricultural and forest residues can be left in tonss on the harvest home site for deceasing, but particularly in humid climes, or parts with heavy snow autumn, this will non be sufficient to acquire to really low ( & lt ; 20 % ) wet content. Covering biomass hemorrhoids with rainproof sheets is a common step that helps accomplish low wet content and avoids decay of the biomass. In some instances, biomass feedstocks need to be actively dried before transition into utile energy. This can be executable from an economic and environmental point of position if waste heat is used, but to utilize fossil energy for drying biomass is questionable from both an economic every bit good as sustainability point of position. Pelletisation and briquetting Both pelletisation and briquetting are commercially available engineerings to automatically compact biomass. Low quality wood is the major feedstock for production of wood pellets, whereas briquetting is normally used to distill agricultural residues. Pellets are frequently used for long-haul conveyance of fuels for big graduated table usage, for illustration for co-firing in coal discharged power coevals workss. Cleaning The gas obtained from gasification contains drosss and particulates that need to be removed before utilizing it in power workss, because these contaminations can lend to eroding, corrosion, and loss of strength in the gas turbine constituents. Conventional methods for taking contaminations from biogas typically rely on chemical or physical cleansing processes runing at temperatures of 38A °C or less. When cooled to this degree, about all of the steam nowadays in the syngas condenses and the contaminations are removed. But so the gas has to be reheated. So, this procedure is non effectual for gas power workss and that ‘s why there is another engineering that is comparatively new and is called Hot gas killing where the cleansing procedure is carried out at high temperature, so that cut down this efficiency loss and better the gasification works ‘s commercial viability. The disadvantages of the hot gas killing engineering are that operational experience is limited, it has higher costs, and it adds complexness to the procedure ; nevertheless, it is considered to be the technologically more advanced pick for new dedicated biomass workss. BECSS CCS engineering is chiefly discussed in the context of avoiding CO2 emanations from dodo fuels, but the this could besides be used in bioenergy transition workss. The thought behind bioenergy with CCS ( BECCS ) is that capturing and hive awaying the CO2 emitted during bioenergy coevals provides the possibility to take â€Å" impersonal † Carbon dioxide from the ambiance, therefore supplying negative emanations. CO2 impersonal procedure Clean and dependable power beginning if sufficient biomass is available Way to dispose waste stuffs that otherwise would make environmental hazards. Social and economic impacts are besides of import factors in the overall impact of bioenergy production. Bioenergy deployment has considerable possible to make employment in the agricultural and forestry sector and along the supply concatenation, and therefore to profit rural communities. This facet is peculiarly of import in developing states, where much of the population depends on agribusiness for their support. In these states, bioenergy frequently provides energy in rural countries, and there is considerable possible to heighten this function by bettering the efficiency of bioenergy usage and making new, sustainable supply systems for biomass feedstocks. Main barriers confronting enlargement of biomass for power coevals are high costs, low transition efficiency and feedstock handiness. As any new engineering, biomass power coevals requires presently in most instances some degree of fiscal support. In the long term, bio-power potency will depend on engineering progresss and on competition for feedstock usage, and with nutrient production for cultivable land usage. Long-distance transit reduces economic and environmental attraction of biomass. Hazards associated with extended usage of biomass relate to intensive agriculture, fertilisers and chemicals use and biodiversity preservation. Certifications that biomass feedstock is produced in a sustainable manner are needed to better credence of public wood and lands direction. The usage of energy from biomass day of the months back to the first clip a fire was lit from the burning of wood. Prior to the industrial revolution, biomass was used for all of our energy demands. Up until the 1880s wood was used for 91 % of all our energy requirements.A 1890. Coal began to displace wood used in steam coevals. 1980s. High oil monetary values and dependance created new involvement in biomass energy, biomass power workss were built in North America and a big biomass power industry rapidly developed in California. By 1985, California had 850 megawatts of installed biomass power capacity. 1990s. Governments take a greater involvement in utilizing renewable energy, such as biomass, to diminish nursery gases and other emanations. 2000. A study of 133 states by the International Energy Agency shows that the biomass portion of entire energy ingestion is 10.5 % Presently, bioenergy electricity is chiefly generated through steam power coevals, including co-firing workss. Electricity supply from biomass has been increasing bit by bit since 2000 and in 2010 biomass provided around ( 280 TWh ) 1.5 % of universe electricity production. Power coevals from biomass is still concentrated in developed states, but for illustration China and Brazil are besides going of import electricity manufacturers in peculiar from agricultural residues thanks to back up programmes. The theoretical accounts established in these states could besides go a feasible manner to advance bioenergy electricity coevals in other non-OECD states with similar conditions.†¦Harmonizing to the International Energy Agency roadmap, universe bioenergy electricity coevals will increase by more than 10 times from around 290 TWh in 2009 to 3100 TWh in 2050 and could supply around 7.5 % of universe electricity coevals, compared to 1.5 % today. The usage of biomass for power coevals v aries between parts, depending on biomass handiness, transition costs, and the handiness of alternate low-carbon energy beginnings. China histories for the largest portion ( 920 T Wh ) of entire bioenergy electricity coevals in 2050, followed by OECD Americas ( 520 T Wh ) . Other parts besides have considerable coevals degree in 2050 such as OECD Europe ( 370 T Wh ) , Other Developing Asia ( 570 T Wh, of which 250 TWh in India ) , Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union ( FSU ) ( 280 TWh, of which 170 TWh in Russia ) and Central and South America ( 240 T Wh, of which 190 TWh in Brazil ) , some ( e.g. Eastern Europe and FSU, China ) get downing from a really low footing.†¦

Toyota Brand Analysis Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Toyota Brand Analysis - Essay Example Fortification - the brand should carry a consistent image over time to reinforce its place in the consumer's mind and develop a special relationship with the consumer. Brand extensions can further fortify the brand, but only with related products having a perceived fit in the mind of the consumer. A company may have many brand names, but each group should fit well together. When Toyota wanted to compete in the luxury car market, a new brand called Lexus was created. This avoided muddying the established Toyota brand name, which represents value and economy, and removed any possible negative preconceptions about the Lexus name being cheap. The divergent fortunes of two automobiles made by the same manufacturer offer an unintended study of the power of brand strategy to alter behavior. Since 1989, both the Toyota Corolla and the Geo Prizm have been made by New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI), a joint venture of General Motors and Toyota. While the two cars are virtual twins, the Corolla has had consistently stronger sales despite a higher price. How come "The strength of Toyota's brand allowed it to charge more," says The Economist. "Buyers thought a Toyota would be superior to a GM car in the same class, and so happily paid more." The effect of brand equity on profit and growth is striking. ... "Buyers thought a Toyota would be superior to a GM car in the same class, and so happily paid more." The effect of brand equity on profit and growth is striking. While both cars cost the same to make-about $10,300-Toyota sold 200,000 Corollas to dealers at $11,000 each, while GM managed to move only 80,000 Geo Prizms at $10,700 between 1990 and 1994, The Economist notes. The result: "Toyota made $128 million more than GM in operating profits from NUMMI, while its dealers made $107 million more than those of GM from the plant's products." Toyota Motor Corp. (TM ) is on pace to be the world's No. 1 auto maker by 2008. It produces nearly one of every six cars sold in the U.S., including nine models in the South and Midwest, where it employs 32,000 Americans. Even New York livery cab fleets, once largely made up of leathery Lincolns, now feature Toyota's Prius, the hit hybrid taking coastal cities by storm. Toyota largely remains "terra incognita" to American investors, while GM can still attract buyers even as it flirts with bankruptcy. "Toyota stock doesn't have the 'mind share' of GM or Ford," says John M. Novak, an auto analyst at Chicago's Morningstar Inc. "There's a perception that you can't invest in it [because] it's a Japanese company -- that you would require a special account." ( Business week) Toyota Strengths: In 2003 Toyota knocked its rivals Ford into third spot, to become the World's second largest carmaker with 6.78 million units. The company is still behind rivals General Motors with 8.59 million units in the same period. Its strong industry position is based upon a number of factors including a diversified product range, highly targeted marketing and a commitment to lean manufacturing and quality. The company makes a large range of

Pick up a topic from my PDF - Essay Example It is believed that the first cellular life forms were anaerobic heterotrophs because they lacked fully functional mitochondria. For example, majority of parabasalids and diplomonads are found in surroundings that lack oxygen. These protists do not contain plastid. In addition, their mitochondria are short of DNA and enzymes required for the tricarboxylic acid cycle. They also lack an electron transport chain. In other species, the mitochondria are extremely tiny. In these species, the cytosol contains cofactors that take part in production of ATP. A common example of a diplomonad is Girdia intestinalis got by taking contaminated water. Girdia thrives in mammals’ intestines where there is inadequate oxygen. Parabasalids include trichomonads such as Trichomonas vaginalis, which live in the vagina of female human beings (an anaerobic environment). Trichomonas vaginalis outgrow other beneficial bacteria and infect the vaginal lining under suitable conditions of acidity. Protists generally carry out three main metabolic activities, which are photosynthesis, nitrogen fixation, and respiration. Metabolic paths in Protists involve many materials and pathways, some of which are unique to this group only. Blue-green algae or the cyanobacteria use chlorophyll a and other pigments known as phycobilins for photosynthesis. Phycobilins have two colors, phycocyanin (blue) and phycoerythrin (red). Thylakoid-like membranes hold chlorophyll a just like in plants. Purple and green bacteria are anaerobes that utilize sulphur compounds, fatty acids, and alcohols as electron donors during the energy generating processes. Photosystem 2 in plants appeared to have evolved from photosynthesis in purple bacteria whereas, in bacteria, this system is a predecessor of photosystem 1. Prokaryotes are the only living things that have the ability to fix free nitrogen from the atmosphere. Endosymbiosis played an extremely large role in the evolution of prokaryotic and eukaryotic protists. Endosymbiosis involved unicellular organisms engulfing other cells. These cells in return evolved into organelles in the hosts’ cells. For example, the original eukaryotes obtained mitochondria as a result of swallowing up alpha proteobacteria. Studies of all protists indicate that they all have mitochondria, or at least previously contained them. Later on, a descendant of heterotrophic eukaryotes obtained a photosynthetic cyanobacterium as an endosymbiont. This photosynthetic cyanobacterium later changed to a plastid. Red and green algae arose from this lineage. Scientific evidence of this phenomenon is the similarity in the DNA sequences of cyanobacteria and plastids in red and green algae. These algae also went through secondary endosymbioisis through the process of evolution on a number of incidences. They were swallowed in a heterotrophic eukaryotes’ food vacuole and became endosymbionts. Chlorarachniophytes is a good example of algae that progressed from such a process. Fossils of protists and other microscopic organisms are contained in microfossils. Microfossil records indicate that prokaryotes were the earliest forms of being in the world for a long time (about 3.5 billion years ago). Protists came after the prokaryotes at some 1.5 billion years ago. Fossil records are able to give distinctions between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells in terms of the internal cell compositions. Zonation on a Local and Global Scale Zones are biological phenomena that
